Thank you from Village Deli and That’s What Friends Are For, Inc!

The Village Deli, along with many good friends, held its annual charity golf tournament and auction in May 2015, and it was able to raise over $32,000 to fund the non-profit organization That’s What Friends Are For, Inc., for its spay/neuter program and to help with animal rescue work throughout the CSRA. We wish to thank everyone that participated by donating their time, love and/or money to make this our most successful event to date, and we hope that we can count on your support next year. Cory Powell sang the National Anthem flawlessly to start our day, and the good times just rolled out from there. Great food, good friends and fabulous weather made for a fun day of fundraising at the Augusta Municipal Golf Course, affectionately called “The Patch.” If you missed it, I hope that you will plan to join us next year.

That’s What Friends Are For, Inc., is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that brings together caring and compassionate people in a network that is helping to fund and perform animal rescue efforts that include the spay and neuter of dogs and cats, owned or stray, and so much more. We believe that together we can make a huge difference in the pet overpopulation crisis that currently results in so many abandoned, neglected, abused and euthanized dogs and cats. The funds we raise together are given to legitimate animal rescue organizations that are struggling to do great things for companion animals in our communities and to assist pet owners with the expenses of spay or neuter when they cannot afford it. We accept tax deductible donations year round. Checks can be mailed to us at 1707 Harowgate Place, Augusta, GA 30906.

Volunteering in the world of animal rescue can be very fulfilling. Once you look into the eyes of an animal in need, there is just no turning away. The lasting friendships you make will amaze you, fill your heart with gladness and hope, and empower you in ways that are sure to surprise you. The ripple effect, when you inspire someone else, will help spread kindness and generosity throughout our neighborhoods, our communities, and our country. We are truly grateful to all of the people that we work with and have worked with, and every person that makes the effort to improve the life of companion animals. It is heartwarming to grow our network each and every day.

“Rescuing one dog or cat won’t change the world; but, for that one dog or cat, their world is changed forever.” –Author Unknown.
With sincere gratitude,
